Community Workshop is a community-based Medicaid provider agency offering attendant care and day support activity along with employment and vocational rehabilitation services.
Our agency also offers access to a makerspace with a wide range of tools: 3D printers and a laser cutter, sewing machines, CNC routers, woodworking and welding gear…and more. This allows us to support our clients' technical interests and pursuits in various fields. Crafty but not familiar with a tool, we can help you learn to use it, too!
We are seeking a driven and compassionate individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). This is more than just a job: it's an opportunity to be part of something bigger, be creative, and make a real impact on the lives of others.
Position to fill: Part-time to full-time direct support professional
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in a variety of settings.
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, transportation, and personal care as well as activities in the community.
- Create a safe and engaging environment that fosters independence and growth.
- Collaborate with a supportive team to develop and implement individualized plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals you support.
What We're Looking For:
- Preferred 1-2 years experience working with individuals with disabilities but not required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience and passion for creative design and making.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
- Reliable, personal transportation and valid driver's license.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.
- 2 professional references.
- Able to pass a background check.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary starting at $19-22/hour DOE with increases based on performance and transition to full−time, $.50/mile reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
