POSITION AND ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

As a sales rep, your primary focus is developing business for Fort George Distribution and our supplier partners, securing placements for new brands and packages. You will call on local accounts within an assigned territory, writing orders and pitching new products. Maintaining great relationships with account owners and buyers and managing customer questions and issues is a must. You’ll be responsible for executing sales objectives to meet our overall business goals. This position is as comfortable working independently with accounts and account buyers as well as with supplier sales reps and key Fort George personnel in order to build brands. It requires that you communicate extensively with all associates, accounts, and coworkers directly related to the position’s functions, as well as work closely with all delivery drivers and account buyers in order to meet business objectives.

Department: Distribution

Schedule: Full-Time - Generally M-F, 8am-4pm but has a varying schedule to occasionally include weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.

Essential Functions:

Build Fort George Distribution portfolio brands

Engage, instruct and inspire accounts about the brands in the portfolio

Visit and meet with on and off-premise accounts on a weekly basis to write orders

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key managers/buyers at target accounts

Meet/exceed sales goals set for assigned territory

Merchandise accounts, i.e. taking product out of back stock and putting it on a sellable shelf

Collect payment from accounts/suppliers, balancing end of day report with merchandise sold

Maintain an organized and clean sales vehicle

Attend and participate in key distribution events such as meetings, educational events, releases, tastings, etc.

Interface with account personnel and sales reps

Execute periodic ride-alongs with suppliers, brand representatives, and key industry personnel as necessary

Helping to maintain a clean and tidy work environment at the distribution warehouse and grounds

Filling in for absent distribution staff as necessary, including drivers, sales reps, warehouse staff, etc.

Attending all scheduled employee meetings and mandatory events

Other duties assigned by supervisor

Who We Are Looking For:

21 years of age or older

Beer sales knowledge and experience preferred but not required

Clean driving record; valid Driver’s License required; Forklift Operator’s certification (may be obtained upon hire); ability to safely operate warehouse vehicles/equipment such as trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, wrappers, etc.

Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical; be able to comply with the Fort George drug and alcohol misuse policy including random drug testing

Valid OLCC Server’s Permit, MAST permit (may be obtained within 45 days from first date of employment)

WSET 1 within six months of hire preferred, but not required

Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certification (may be obtained within 6 months of employment)

Ability to successfully communicate and exchange information with coworkers and associates; ability to read/understand written/oral instructions/information etc.

Working knowledge of various computer programs and Point of Sale systems such as bMobile, VIP, etc. or ability to learn requisite programs quickly
