The Public Works Department is seeking to fill a Laboratory Analyst position in the Wastewater Division. The individual selected will operate and maintain the City’s wastewater treatment plant laboratory and related equipment to ensure compliance and will report to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. This position is represented by the AFSCME bargaining unit and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued PTO.
Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field of natural science with heavy emphasis in chemistry is preferred.
Five years total with a minimum of three years experience in a wastewater treatment plant laboratory supplemented by two additional years of environmental or field experience in areas such as microbiology, biology and chemistry.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Possession of a Washington State Group 1 Operator in Training or other Operator Certificate preferred.
