Reports to: Director of Enterprise

Supervises: Salvage Specialists, Assistant Manager, Drivers

Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 9:30 AM-6:30PM, with occasional additional hours as needed

Overtime: Exempt, not-eligible

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Starting Salary $58,000-$65,000/year depending on experience. Current benefits package:

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees the ReBuilding Center’s Store personnel and material donations toward our mission to divert waste for reuse, supporting the social and environmental health of the region. Provides supervision, coaching, reviews, and development opportunities for the store staff. Trains and engages store team members in accepting donations of, merchandising, displaying, and selling used building materials to the public. Together with the Director of Enterprise, provides motivational leadership for store staff for the achievement and promotion of a safe, healthy, productive, cohesive, positive and resilient workplace that delivers excellent customer service for a diverse community.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Leadership: (ongoing)

● In close coordination with the Director of Enterprise, provide leadership and supervision to the store personnel, including information sharing, problem solving, prioritization and team building.

● Support organization-wide initiatives to improve the racial equity of the ReBuilding Center as an employer and as a community hub.

● Promote and maintain a vibrant, engaging, collaborative work environment.

● Understand and live into the organization’s mission and values.

● Collaborate with organization-wide staff to set & implement RBC’s goals and practices.

Material Donation Management: (45%)

● Oversee donation pick up and delivery service including walk throughs and daily routing.

● Oversee tracking of inventory and valuation of items donated through the pick-up service.

● Oversee material consignment processes.

● Track inventory and help coordinate movement of materials to the store as needed.

● Ensure vehicle fleet and equipment are in safe and proper working order and are well maintained.

● Fill in for absent drivers and periodically work alongside the drivers with forklifting and large and/or complex donations, deliveries and clear outs.

Store & Driving Personnel Management: (45%)

● Lead all aspects of store personnel management.

● Serve as a Manager on Duty when working in the Store.

● Provide guidance and direction for all store activities according to established operational procedures.

● Practice, role model, and train staff in all aspects of outstanding customer service and knowledge of materials. Maintain customer and donor satisfaction by resolving all questions or complaints.

● Complete all related tasks and duties as needed to achieve the goals of the department and the organization.

Safety: (10%)

● Establish and maintain a strong safety culture within the store. Participate on Safety Committee. Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

● Five years of professional experience in a retail setting.

● Two years of professional experience supervising and managing employees.

● Demonstrated proficiency with: Word, Excel, Google Workspace and data entry.

● Able to lift up to 75lbs. repeatedly throughout the day on concrete floors in an open-air environment.

● Ability to pass DOT medical exam

● Valid drivers license and clean driving record for past 3 years (no CDL required)

Pluses:

● Experience with building materials

● Forklift and box truck experience

● Experience with Shopify

● Proficiency in a second language with a preference for Spanish-speaking skills
