Powell’s Books, the world’s largest independent bookstore, has openings for part-time and full-time regular Generalist positions at our City of Books location in downtown Portland.

The schedules are to-be-determined, but will be regular and consistent, and include both weekend days. Shifts may fall between 7am and 9pm.
The generalist positions are part of a team involved in a wide variety of tasks, including:
Customer service
Cashiering
Merchandising and section maintenance
Shelving
Inventory management
The successful candidates will have a strong and demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service, adaptability and flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience ensuring accuracy in their work, and an attention to detail.
The starting pay for these positions is $15.45 per hour, with a wage increase to $17.00 effective the first day of the pay period following the 31st calendar day from hire.
