SUMMARY: The Meat Cutter is responsible for cutting, trimming, boning, and grinding meats to portion and preparing meat in cooking form by performing the following duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wraps, weighs, labels and prices cuts of meat.
Cuts, trims and grinds meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat in cooking form.
Place meat cuts and products in the display counter so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye.
Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
Tends electric grinder to grind meat.
Ensures that food safety standards are followed for cooling and storage of food items to prevent an environment for exposure to bacteria associated with food-borne illnesses.
Take necessary measures to avoid food waste.
Recommends, slices, weighs, packages and prices meat & seafood products.
Maintains and rotates products and displays to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
Provides excellent service to meat counter customers by responding to requests and making recommendations.
Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 1 year of meat cutting experience preferred
Other skills required:
Knowledge and understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to perform duties in a team environment.
