Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Retail Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, hydroponics, or agriculture, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining store operations, and contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers, including troubleshooting garden, hydroponic, or irrigation issues.
-Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately.
-Receive, organize, and stock inventory, ensuring the store remains well-maintained and visually appealing.
-Assist customers with loading purchases and provide product recommendations.
-Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including shelves, displays, and storage areas.
-Support managers with assigned tasks, including inventory management, data entry, and receiving purchase orders.
-Stay informed about new products, gardening techniques, and industry trends to better serve customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED.
-Basic knowledge of gardening, hydroponics, or irrigation systems.
-Proficiency with computers, POS systems, and cashiering.
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for 6-7 hours per shift (excluding breaks).
-Strong communication and customer service skills.
-Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Truck driving or delivery experience is a significant plus – this role may involve local deliveries or assisting with logistics.
-Experience working in a garden supply store, hydroponics store, or similar retail environment.
-Forklift certification or experience operating heavy machinery.
-Knowledge of pesticides, fertilizers, or indoor agriculture practices.
-Experience with inventory management, stocking, or warehouse operations.
-Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits:
-Starting pay: 16.50−18.50 per hour (commensurate with experience).
