Job Description and Responsibilities

OBC Northwest is currently seeking an individual to fill our full time Purchasing Agent Position. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for acquiring the necessary goods and services for resale and production.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Process and manage purchase orders, expedite, and ensure orders are confirmed in a timely manner.

Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.

Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and availability issues.

Manage day-to-day supplier relationships.

Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers.

Locate new suppliers as needed.

Work closely with customer service and suppliers to get customer quotes back in timely manner.

Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes or cancellations.

Work with accounting to resolve invoice and purchasing order variances.

Customer service – answer phone calls and emails, assist walk in customers.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.

Purchasing experience a plus but not required.

Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.

Sharp attention to details.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience working with SAP preferred but not required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with many personality types and skills.
