Job Summary
The Shop Assistant is an entry-level role responsible for assisting the shop team with material handling, workspace organization, and basic shop tasks. This role provides an opportunity to learn woodworking and furniture-making processes in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with material handling, loading/unloading deliveries, and organizing stock
Maintain shop cleanliness and organization, including sweeping, waste disposal, and tool maintenance
Provide support to Builders by preparing materials, sanding, and assisting with assembly
Follow safety protocols and assist in maintaining a safe work environment
Learn and operate basic woodworking tools under supervision
Perform general labor and assist with production and delivery needs as directed
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Interest in woodworking, furniture making, or manufacturing
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
