Manual Machinists and Press Brake Operators

We are looking for experienced Manual Machinists to join our team. Must be able to run large Manual Lathe and Mills (Horizontal and vertical). Must pass background check and drug test. 3-5 years of experience working as a Manual Machinist. (N Portland)

Press Brake Operator (Vancouver, WA)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Read and comprehend detailed blueprints diagrams and sketches

· Manufacturing of various parts essential to rotating, reciprocating and or stationary equipment, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes, grinders and radial arm drill press.

· Selects appropriates tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.

· Complete understanding of engineering standards and tolerances.

· Measure, examine parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, while working in demanding time constraints.

· The ability to produce drawing and or sketches of various equipment and parts.

· The understanding and necessity to adherence to budgetary constraints.

· The ability to articulate to the shop foreman, written and or verbal information pertaining to ongoing jobs.

· Meets timeline and or end dates on a consistence basis

· Available to work overtime on as needed.

· Performs minor programing and ability to read and understand (DRO) Digital read out.

· Performs routine maintenance of shop equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing and on blueprints.

· Excellent communication skill

· Exceptional working knowledge of shop mathematics

· Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

· The ability to run horizontal milling machine, Bullard machine and vertical turning lathes

· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:

· Work is performed in a machine shop atmosphere

· Work is primarily performed standing or walking

· Regularly stands at a machine for extended hours

· Frequently lifts, carries and positions objects weighing up to 40 to 50 pounds

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of 5 years manual machining experience

· Machining apprenticeship preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
