Background:

Stratos Aircraft is developing the Stratos 716, a very light jet. It is designed to comfortably seat six people and baggage, cruise at 400 knots with a 1,500 nautical range. The 716 is among the first of a new class of personal jet aircraft. See www.stratosaircraft.com for more information.

Stratos Aircraft is vertically integrated, including a well-equipped machine shop. We are looking for a machinist to join our team in operating a variety of machines including HAAS CNC mills (VF6 and VF2), HAAS 3 axis router, DMG Mori horizontal milling machine, a DMG Mori lathe, and a large 5 axis CMS router.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate various CNC machines.

Performing CNC operations using Mastercam simulation software

Documentation of processes for making parts

Assist with planning and coordinating resources in the machine shop

Providing feedback to engineering including review of drawings

Overseeing and performing regular maintenance of machines

Requirements:

Experience is great but a superb attitude is a must!

Willingness to learn is a must!

3 years’ experience operating 5 axis routers.

Basic computers skill including typing

Experience with SolidCAM and Mastercam

Conventional lathe and milling experience

Ability to hold tight tolerances (+/-.001)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Ability to plan and provide schedules to management based on given priorities

Strong work ethic, reliable, and self-motivated

Consistent high-quality workmanship and attention to detail

Capable of physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light

Knowledge of related safety standards and willingness to use protective gear (face-shield, gloves, etc.)

Good communication skills and willing to help others as needed

Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, when needed

Possession of a valid and current driver's license

Ability to maintain a positive work attitude with an emphasis on teamwork. We are a small team that works closely together. We expect a positive attitude with willingness to put in extra effort when needed.

Proof of US citizenship or permanent residency.
