Mosko Moto is seeking a full-time Product Developer at our HQ in White Salmon, Washington. This role involves hands-on product development and project management, from strategic planning to final product commercialization for Mosko’s Apparel and Protection categories. We’re looking for a driven, creative problem solver to join the team with at least five years experience developing and managing relevant projects to help build the next phase of Apparel and Protection.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the product development process from design brief to bulk production.
Manage development / production timelines, milestone meetings, and updates to team members.
Manage and track costing to ensure products are sourced efficiently and align with margin goals.
Evaluate and help resolve potential issues in design tech packages, BOMs, patterns, and components.
Maintain development documentation to ensure product information is accurate at each checkpoint.
Discover, qualify, and manage relationships with vendors to meet product requirements.
Manage and participate in on-bike field testing, plus third-party lab testing of products and materials to advance designs and improve functionality.
Work closely with Design, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing teams to communicate accurate product information, build successful partnerships, and product activations.
Achieve a deep understanding of Mosko Moto’s customers to inform product development.
Understand and research trends in advanced materials to identify key product opportunities.
Develop and implement improvements to Mosko's Go-To-Market process.
Understand and manage CE certification requirements and process.
Competencies
Advanced knowledge of apparel product development processes.
Expert ability to create and edit technical drawings, including detailed constructions as necessary.
Advanced understanding of technical apparel construction with knowledge of fit and patternmaking.
Cost engineering and knowledge of manufacturing processes (previous travel to manufacturers a plus).
Detail-oriented with proven skills in project management coordinating with multiple internal departments and external vendors.
Highly agile, adaptable, and capable of working effectively in a small team.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly in written and verbal form fluently in English.
Independent, decisive, and proactive in bringing new ideas and solutions to the team.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in design, development, product management or additional work experience in the design, development, or manufacture of consumer products, preferably technical apparel.
Five years minimum of professional development work with some product management / merchandising experience.
Experience in technical material development preferred.
Understanding of trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity requirements, product cycle timeline, and basic production process.
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the work year within the USA and internationally.
Up for riding motorcycles off-road and camping in remote locations.
About The Team
Our growing 24-person in-house team includes decades of design experience for top outdoor brands, extensive knowledge of sourcing and manufacturing, finance, marketing, customer service, and a lot of motorcycle riding. Everyone at Mosko rides; everyone has a bike. We ride big bikes and small bikes, always with a ‘dirt-first’ mentality.
Compensation
Package includes health insurance benefits, paid time off, five days paid moto flex ride time, five days paid sick leave, life insurance + AD&D plan, 401k program, Mosko gear allowance, industry pro deal program, and bi-annual week-long company moto camping trips. Salary based on experience. Use of company Macbook Pro laptop, monitor, software, and equipment as needed.
Location
This full-time in-house position is based at Mosko HQ in White Salmon, Washington. Some US and international travel is required. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
