Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate is expected to possess some experience in child welfare, and immigration laws. These experiences are not required for the job, however, as we are willing to train. This role requires legal research and drafting skills, and the ability to litigate effectively on behalf of our clients.
The ideal candidate is expected to be comfortable driving long distances for client visits.
Responsibilities
Represent clients through all phases of dependency litigation, from shelter-care hearing until reunification, or termination of parental rights.
Represent clients with immigration matters before the USCIS, including but not limited to immigrant, and non-immigrant visa applications, and asylum application.
Attend court hearings and represent clients in various legal proceedings as required.
Communication, and collaboration with DCFY to ensure efficient, and expedient case resolution.
Skills
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw, and Lexis+
Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
An ability to effectively litigate cases and represent clients in court.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Bar Admission
WA state license is preferred.
Will consider a Rule 8 or Rule 9 candidate if the candidate qualifies and is willing to be admitted in WA state.
Job Types: Full-time.
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
