Warehouse Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily operations for a construction-related company in the warehouse (3 buildings), ensuring the warehouse and its contents are organized in a systematic and safe manner acceptable by company standards. Through their own effort and utilization of warehouse staff, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for planning and scheduling deliveries and distribution of materials to other team members to ensure timely and efficient dispersal of supplies and products. The Warehouse Supervisor will also be responsible for general building maintenance, coordinating with warehouse staff or outside providers as needed, to ensure proper safety, security, and upkeep of the buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse & Inventory Control

Continuous review of warehouse and inventory to create a systematic process of organization to maximize distribution of materials and supplies to technician staff.

Actively participate and utilize warehouse staff in distribution of materials to technicians and coordinate schedules of vendors and deliveries to maximize timing and space utilization of traffic.

Actively work with team members, decision makers, and/or outside vendors in execution of deliveries or allocation and collection of materials.

Participate in the logistical scheduling of warehouse equipment, material pick ups and deliveries with available staff and resources in an efficient manner.

Perform audits of warehouse equipment (ie. forklift, scissor lift, trailers, etc.) and vehicle fleet for maintenance needs, coordinating with outside vendors to schedule service or repairs when needed.

Actively work with Inventory Manager to ensure supplies and equipment are restocked.

Oversee the receiving, verification, stocking and/or distribution of materials daily arriving from UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.

Assist or coordinate general building maintenance (ie. sweeping, mopping, lightbulb replacement, AC filters, etc.) requesting for outside service for maintenance that requires specialty work.

Administrative & Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise warehouse staff, providing direction, praise, or constructive feedback in efforts to create a collaborative team environment.

Utilize company applications and/or computer related software (MS Office, Outlook, etc.) to optimize performance.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with other department staff and managers to provide on-going support and encourage a collaborative teamwork environment.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

High School Diploma/GED required.

3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.

Must be able to read, understand, and interpret equipment manuals and procedures in English.

Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurements, decimals, fractions, computation of figures, amounts, rates, ratios, percentages.)

Must have active driver license and driving record accepted by the Company’s Auto Insurance underwriting requirements.

Must be able to pass DOT certification.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Must be able to identify safety hazards and comply with OSHA rules and regulations.

Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, telephone, and through other communication methods (written/verbal) using active listening skills and teamwork.

High proficiency in multi-tasking, organization, time management, prioritization of tasks, delegation, and conflict resolution.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or move for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, walking, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in small areas.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus while working on a computer or project.

Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and must be able to use hand or power tools and use heavy machinery and equipment. (lifts, trailers, etc.)

May be exposed to various environmental changes such as weather or excessive noise.

May be exposed to general household cleaning solutions.

Starting pay $25-$28/hr DOE
