In this role, you'll work independently to diagnose issues, prescribe solutions, and apply specialized treatments to keep our clients' landscapes thriving. In the spraying off-season, you’ll stay busy and engaged by contributing to other landscape maintenance and enhancements projects. If you have a passion for horticulture, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in your precision and expertise, we want to talk with you!Responsibilities and DutiesSafely mix, handle, and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals according to label instructions and company protocols.Diagnose plant health issues, including insect infestations, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, including types, rates, and locations of treatments.Operate and maintain spray equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pesticide use and application safety.Communicate with clients and team members regarding treatment plans, expectations, and follow-up care.Assist with general landscape maintenance as needed.Required QualificationsValid pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe).1-2 years’ experience in landscape maintenance, pest control, or related field.Background check required for access to certain commercial sites.Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurance standards.Knowledge of plant health, weed control, and pest management practices.Ability to operate spray equipment and other landscaping tools safely and efficiently.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Independent work ethic and time management skills.Competent with technology and software, including Office 365.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.Work Schedule and EnvironmentFour-day work week (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday)Early morning start times (6:00-7:00 AM depending on season)Approximately 10-hour workdays with overtime opportunities during peak seasonsBased at our Southeast Portland headquartersBenefits & Pay Range$25-30 per hour, dependent upon experienceWeekly paychecksPaid vacation, sick leave and holidaysComprehensive and affordable health insurance: medical, dental, vision, mental health, and alternative medicine401k with generous company match40% employee discount on all plants and retail merchandisePartner discounts and employee store passes at Danner, Carhartt, Duluth Trading, Adidas, and Columbia.Tuition reimbursement for ongoing educationOpportunities for professional growth and advancement within the companyAbout UsDennis’ 7 Dees is a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the Portland area.
