Join a small, woman-owned, high-end landscaping business serving homes in the Portland metro area. This is a rewarding job for the right person, with opportunities to learn artisan, organic garden care from experienced practitioners while working in beautiful and inspiring gardens. We are a small team who love to work outside and we have a great time working hard together.
A typical work day may include raking, weeding, debris clean-up and hauling, deadheading, cutting back or cleaning up perennials, hand pruning, mulching, and/or transplanting and planting. The work can be fast-paced and we pride ourselves on a high standard of quality. An eye for aesthetic detail, excellent work ethic, time management skills, and a willingness to learn our garden care systems are essential for this position.
Position Details:
- Starting hourly wage: $19-25/hr DOE (W-2)
- Hours per week: 7-21 (negotiable)
- Start date: negotiable / as soon as possible
- Paid travel time to each job site
- Opportunities for raises as a reward for time with the company as well as skill development
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and mindfulness of efficiency
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of plant care (professional landscape experience is not required)
- Readily asks clarifying questions to ensure quality outcomes
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors cheerfully in any weather (work is occasionally
called off or modified for icy road conditions or extreme temperatures, but otherwise we
work in all weather - rain, heat, and cold)
- Can work both independently and under supervision
- Must have reliable vehicle to get to and between job sites (we visit 1 to 3 residences
each work day)
- Must have rain gear, garden gloves, and work boots
