About the Job:
Pack My Truck is a residential moving and junk removal company servicing the Portland Metro area. We are a small, family owned operation and are looking for someone to grow along side us.
We are currently seeking an experienced mover to be our next TEAM LEAD part time or full time.
In our team leader position, you will be responsible for the completion of a successful move for our customers! As a lead mover, you will maintain strong communication with our customers and your teammates throughout the moving process.
You will also be responsible for collecting payments after each job.
Communication and conflict management skills are key in this role.
Responsibilities:
In our team leader position you will need to be able to:
- Operate a hand truck with precision and care
- Operate common hand tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture
- Wrap furniture with moving pads, shrink wrap, and tape
- Pack household items into boxes with care
- Safely and carefully stack and secure loads with straps and ropes in the truck
- Lift and carry boxes and furniture items such as dressers, couches, bed frames, night stands and much more.
- Organize and clean work vehicles
- Safely and legally operate our company vehicles
- Report any maintenance / safety issues with our vehicles to the office team
- Communicate well with customers and our own teammates
- Calculate and collect payments
Training can be given for all of the required skills listed above.
Requirements:
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be respectful at all times. Our customers count on us for showing up to their move with the best attitude possible.
- Be a team player
- Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to stand and walk while carrying various items as needed
- Reliable transportation to work and / or a good attendance track record (in the form of positive employer references or testimonials)
- A driver's license
- Heavy Labor / Moving Experience
- Customer service experience
- Managerial experience
- Truck loading / unloading experience
- Hand Truck experience
- Have good conflict management skills
Compensation
Our STARTING pay ranges from $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience plus you keep 100% of your hard earned tips (Most jobs tip)!
Overtime
Overtime availability is dependent on our workload / seasonality. Overtime may be available but is not required.
