Owen Equipment is looking to hire a lead Payroll/HR Specialist to join our growing team.

Owen Family of Companies encompasses four business units dedicated to Equipment Sales, Service & Rentals across the Western US, Utah & Texas. Each business specializes in the industry we serve within our geographical reach.

Owen Equipment: 5 locations, serving Federal & local municipalities, utilities, and contractors. Products include Sewer Cleaners, Street Sweepers, Hydro-Excavators, Custom Work Truck builds and Utility work Trucks.

Cal-Line Equipment: 7 locations recognized as the world's leading Bandit dealer offering Sales, service, parts and support for handfed chippers, stump grinders, industrial Horizontal grinders, and whole tree chippers.

Blaze Equipment Rental: Headquartered in Fort Worth Texas, as the exclusive HPM dealer for North America provides foundation drill equipment and supplies for Sale, Rental, specialty fabrication & service across all North America.

Reliance Truck and Equipment: Specializing in Refuse hauling equipment with two full-service locations serving all of Texas and New Mexico.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually - depending on experience.

Job Summary:

The Payroll/HR Specialist will oversee the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with federal and multi-state government regulations in addition to day-to-day operations of the human resource department. Your ability to develop our HRIS and Payroll software to the next level will be a key function of this lead Payroll/HR Specialist position.

Requirements:

Enter, maintain, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, and other information.

Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.

Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.

Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Multi-state payroll experience for 200+ employees.

Proficient understanding and knowledge of HR, employee benefits, wage, and hour regulations.

Excellent attention to detail, great organizational, and prioritization skills a must.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with payroll software Paycom a plus!

Education and Experience:

Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

At least three to five years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
