Caregiver/Resident House Manager (Full-Time Position)

Are you a compassionate and organized individual looking for a rewarding live-in opportunity? Do you have experience as a caregiver for seniors or are you willing to learn? We are seeking a Caregiver/Resident House Manager for our adult care home to join our team in Happy Valley, Oregon. This position includes training to prepare you for the role, a minimum 4-year commitment, and the opportunity to live in a private residence while providing essential care and leadership in a senior foster care home.

Position Details

Location: Live-in position in Happy Valley, Oregon, with your own private 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit, full kitchen, living room, and laundry facilities, separate from the care facility below. You may live here with your spouse and/or children.Children living in the home change the care ratio, so it is only suited for older children enrolled in school who have their own caretaker besides the applicant (i.e. a spouse living in the home). Clackamas School District address with a bus stop close by.

Salary: $4,000-$5,500/month (based on experience), plus free room and board.

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), requiring at least two weekends per month and the ability to manage a shared caregiver schedule.

Start Date: April 2024

Job Responsibilities

Resident Care:

Administer medications according to care plans.

Provide hands-on, person-centered care and activities for up to 5 residents, specializing in dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, diabetes, special diets, and hospice care.

Coordinate appointments, communicate with doctors and nurses, and manage medical documentation.

These residents are like family to us, and our expectation is that you also feel the same about them. This is not just a job, it’s a place to serve and love on others in a vulnerable place in their lives.

Team Leadership:

Welcome and assist visiting families.

Share/manage schedules with other caregivers and ensure all shifts are covered.

Supervise relief staff and ensure a high standard of care.

Home Management:

Grocery shopping, meal preparation, and serving meals tailored to residents' dietary needs.

Clean and maintain a tidy, safe, and nurturing home environment.

Care for residents’ pets/Care Home pets if applicable

Spiritual Support:

Support residents’ spiritual needs through prayer, church live-streams, and worship hours.

Regulatory Compliance:

Complete training in Oregon Adult Foster Care Home requirements and Clackamas County regulations (more information will be provided)

Manage a level 3 adult care home

Ensure all state and county regulations are followed within the home.

Qualifications:

Current CNA license or RN License (preferred, not required)

CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred, but will enroll you in courses if needed)

Experience caring for elderly patients (preferred)

DHS background check clearance (required, and we will help you apply)

Preferred Ensuring Quality Care online certificate, but we will enroll you in course if needed

Willingness to complete training specific to Oregon Adult Foster Care Home and Clackamas County regulations and to start training ASAP to prepare for role

Three professional references (required).

Strong organizational skills with experience in caregiving, leadership, or home management.

Fluent in English
