Rewarding, intermittent work for any compassionate person needing supplemental income. Medical care facility or home caregiver experience preferred, but I am willing to teach the easy tasks needed for the care of my friendly, male spouse who is disabled by multiple sclerosis (a neurological disorder that mainly affects movement). Several caregivers are needed for Monday through Friday and occasional weekends, for 2, 3 or 4 hours daytime, afternoon and early evening shifts, (not past 7:00 PM), to ensure all day care coverage, depending on my work and travel schedule.
Requirements: Caregivers are mainly needed to observe that my spouse is safe from falling when he transitions from bed to his wheelchair or to shower chair, for examples, and to help him with basic, daily tasks.
1. Physically able to assist spouse, when he is too weak, with standing and pivoting in and out of wheelchair, using a sit-to-stand-lift or gait belt. He is usually able to pivot independently, though.
2. Light laundry (washer & dryer are in the home), meal prep and clean-up.
3. Caregiver must be non-smoker, not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while working, and be able to understand English. It is NOT necessary to speak English fluently, though!
4. Candidate will need criminal back ground check, paid by me, and certification in CPR (mainly choking prevention). I will pay for this, if not current in certification.
