We are a growing naturopathic health clinic in SE Portland seeking a full time receptionist.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable employee who is ready to work in a busy clinic and excited to work on Saturdays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Answer phones (field calls regarding scheduling, collecting balances due, general patient questions, etc.)
-Upload documents into patient charts
-Check patients in/out, taking payments and scheduling follow ups
-Keep patient accounts up to date
-Order supplies
-Assist with referrals, faxes, prescriptions
-Assist with billing/aging
-Assist with insurance verifications
-Assist with laundry, dishes and general cleaning
WORK CONDITIONS:
-Shared space with other co-workers
-Work is reviewed through meetings, analysis of reports, client feedback and observations.
-Attendance at meetings or completion of work outside of normal scheduled hours may be required.
-Work is subject to frequent interruptions and normal office noise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Strong interest and experience with natural and preventive medicine
-Calm, warm, and bubbly personality with a positive outlook - like a relaxing hot-tub with jets!
-Strong customer service skills - caring and connecting with patients, staff and providers is absolutely required.
-The ability to work as a team, and be a positive leader
-Initiative and self reliance/confidence: make decisions on a timely basis and take action without direction from others when necessary.
-Ability to make difficult decisions and hold boundaries even if you think others will not like them
-Maturity to lead others by example in customer relations, work ethics and performance
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
-Experience with Charm or other EMR
-Experience as a medical assistant preferred!
-Love to talk on the phone - but not too long - short and sweet
-Irritatingly organized
-Problems are just puzzles waiting to be solved
-Love the intricacies of detail but have the perspective of an eagle
-Macintosh, savvy/guru/geek/lover!
-Must always be one step ahead, and never on toes
-Even with text messaging you still write in complete sentences with appropriate grammar
-Anything is possible
-Excuses are what you deal with, not what you deal out
-You are an elephant (that was a compliment you never forget!)
-You love wearing hats but not necessarily literally.
Our ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in an office/medical setting and also have a solid customer service background. You would be available to work shifts Monday through Saturday as needed, but enjoy a regular set schedule, and work/life balance is valued and appreciated here.
