We are a small private dental office who strive to provide high quality family style dental care.

Our assistant is moving and we are looking for a replacement. The rest of the staff has been here for over 10 years so plenty of people to help transition.

Hours Mon-Wed 7:30-4:30, Thurs 7:30-3:00, Every other Friday 8:00-1:00

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient vital signs, maintaining medical documentation, and providing exceptional patient care. We are a small slower-paced private dental office in downtown Portland.

Duties:

- Assist the dentist chairside during dental procedures

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures

- Take and develop dental x-rays

- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history

- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment

- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care

- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant certification/degree in Dental Assisting

- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques

- Familiarity with dental terminology

- Proficiency in taking patient vital signs and conducting patient assessments

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to multitask and adjust on the fly while maintaining a high level of accuracy

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- X-Ray certification is required

- EFDA appreciated but not required

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
