WANTED: Responsible and Reliable quality caregiver for part-time position with active quadriplegic male (me) in the Cedar Mill / N. Beaverton area.
Pay: $19.00/hr. (Private Pay)
When: Weekends -
- Saturday & Sunday Mornings
- Total time for the two mornings is 9-12 hours.
The tasks I need help with:
- Transfers to/from my bed to wheelchairs (I use an overhead lift system)
- Bathing
- Bowl/bladder care
- Getting dressed
- Light meal preparation (toast, frozen burritos, bacon & eggs - simple stuff) and clean up (doing the dishes, etc.).
- Light house cleaning.
- Laundry.
- A few other small miscellaneous tasks.
Having your own reliable transportation would be very helpful as I live about 2.5 miles from Sunset Transit station and 1 mile off the nearest bus line.
I always hope to find someone who has Quad. experience, but I’m also willing to train (paid training) a rookie if I feel they have potential and are a good fit for this position.
Last, a little about me: I was paralyzed in a car accident when I was 18 years old. That was many years ago (feel free to ask how many). Since then I have returned to college a couple of times. I have owned and/or co-owned three small businesses and have always stayed busy designing and building personal projects to make my life easier and helping friends. I am in good health for someone my age and in my position and I work hard to maintain it. Mostly, I am an easy-going person who tries to avoid drama and I’m looking for an easy-going caregiver.
