We are seeking to fill a full-time pastry position, with potential for growth into a leadership position, at our dedicated Gluten-Free Bakery Cafe.
We are a dedicated gluten-free bakery that makes artisan pastries, cakes, cookies, doughnuts, muffins and more. We are hiring a motivated pastry chef who is looking for a rewarding position working in our bakery and who has a desire to lead a talented team.

Responsibilities will include:
All aspects of pastry production and bake off.
Creativity in developing/improving the menu
Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment, upholding all ODA/FDA and health department regulations.
proper inventory controls and rotation.
ordering and receiving ingredients/supplies.
Executing fulfillment of all customer orders.
Excellent communication with co-workers and ability to get along with others.
assisting with schedules, project management
The successful candidates must be or have:

have 1 year of professional kitchen experience or culinary school experience
leadership/management experience a plus and required for candidates applying for Pastry Manager position
Historically, this schedule has been 4 shifts at 10 hours each and early mornings (General start time is 5:30/6:00 AM on Saturdays, 6:00 AM the rest of the week) with exceptions around the fall/winter holidays.

Location: SE Portland
Compensation: depends on experience, however, minimum starting hourly staff wage with 1 year experience is 17/hour PLUS TIPS. Base wage will be discussed at interview
If hired as a Pastry manager, the position will be salaried at a different rate than stated above and will be discussed at interview
