Eyrie Tasting Lead

At The Eyrie Vineyards, we are seeking a full-time hospitality professional who is able to interact with our guests in a way that is both thoughtful and engaging.

Essential to an engaging tasting experience is a welcoming atmosphere. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a welcoming environment for all guests, whether they are first-time visitors or experienced tasters. This is accomplished by keeping the physical space of the tasting room neat and clean, and by presenting our wines in a manner that is clear, concise, and adapted to the guests’ level of experience.

SCHEDULE

The Eyrie Vineyards tasting room is open five to seven days per week, depending on requirements. The Tasting Lead will work five days per week. The candidate must also be available and willing to work on holidays and special events, including occasional evenings. The daily schedule will be from 9:00 – 10:00am to 5:00 – 6:00pm depending on reservations and daily tasks.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Hospitality-focus

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Self-motivated and able to work well independently and as part of a small team

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate with visitors in a down-to-earth, confident, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly manner

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL:

Be able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds repeatedly

Work weekends and some holidays

Have a valid OLCC service permit, Oregon Food Hander’s Card and Driver’s License

Promote excellence in creating and providing guest experiences in keeping with Eyrie’s values and image

Possess a lively interest in and continuously growing knowledge of wine

Display computer proficiency-Point of Sale, Microsoft Office

PAY & BENEFITS

$20 per hour plus tips, wine club sign-up and sales commissions, and generous wine discounts.

Employee discount (50%) on Eyrie wine

Typically, an industry discount of 20 - 30% at other wineries (differs from winery to winery).

NOTE: Applicants should consider the commute time to McMinnville. This can be 1.5 to 2 hours from the Portland area.
