Ruddick/Wood is an established wine country restaurant and tavern, looking for the right person to help us as we continue to operate and grow. This position will work closely with the owner to build on the past ten years of operation while looking at future goals to create a successful business that provides quality food, drink and service to the community, and a sustainable work environment for the staff.

The right person for this role will have a broad knowledge of food and beverage; as well as skills across service, management, marketing, organization and back-end operations, allowing them to develop menus, implement systems, hire and train staff, and lead a team that accomplishes the business' goals. As a small, owner-operated business, all positions require some amount of work in the daily grind, on the floor, and/or filling in any position when needed. There is no task too big or small to take on when it's needed.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Create a comfortable environment for guests and staff

Ensure staff is able to deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction

Maintain and develop beverage program

Maintain good customer and employee relations

Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics that inspire staff to meet and exceed standards

Implement policies and protocols that will sustain future operations

Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste

Perform opening and closing duties for the restaurant, as well as oversee service times

Hire and terminate staff as needed

Schedule, organize and supervise team

Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity

Regularly review product quality and research new vendors

Estimate future needs for goods, utensils and cleaning products and order appropriately

Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations to local, state and federal standards

Create detailed operational reports

Ensure the POS system is organized, updated and accurate

Lead on-site event organization and outreach

Represent R/W for on-site and off-site events as needed

Work with bookkeeper to maintain company records and payroll
