Job Description:
Hire, schedule, train, and supervise all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for various types of service styles.
Define performance requirements, develop action plans for achievement of goals, and monitor staff performance.
Supervise the set-up of function rooms to include placement of linen, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications; visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and setup.
Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during functions with other departments to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations along with corporate standards.
This is a large team and a large resort with many different events and venues around the property at any time. This requires great stamina and ability to strategize and execute the most efficient coordination's and physical oversite in some grassy areas, outdoors, indoor events from 5 to 500.
Comfortable with managing and documenting of banquet team employee relations, up to and including terminations working closely with HR to drive better performance management and accountability.
Report to Banquet Manager and Director of Food and Beverage. Support staff includes Jr. Assistant Manager, Sr. Banquet Captain, 4 Captains, and Team Leads. Oversite of Seasoned Banquet Set Up Team, Banquet Servers, Banquet Bartenders.
This is a seasonal resort that does see a down time from Jan-April and requires offering support and strategic staffing for those months to manage budget and associate retentions.
Schedule: This is a 24-7, 365 day a year hospitality position that will require some work during nights, weekends and holidays. Must have a flexible schedule that can move between shifts and days as needed to provide best coverage for managing events and banquet team.
