Join a values-driven firm where you’ll have fun while solving complex and interesting business challenges.The Senior Investment Research Analyst, as a member of the Investment Research and Portfolio Management Team (IRPM) is responsible for conducting manager due diligence, analyzing client portfolios and monitoring investment manager performance. The Investment Research Analyst will provide support to the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Managers in furthering the development of our investment platform, building out portfolio management capabilities and contributing to the firm’s overarching manager research and asset allocation activities. This multi-faceted role will also include providing support to the broader Investment Research and Portfolio Management team as it relates to projects, research, investment deliverables, various prep work for advisors, etc. across multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income and private investments.Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills – Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities:
Serve as liaison between advisors and private investment fund managers, acting as a subject matter expert on the terms of various strategies
Collects, validates and analyzes economic and capital market data in support of investment projects and processes
Analyzes investment portfolios to provide attribution, risk and performance analytics
Develops investment proposals and recommendations for clients and prospective clients
Supports education across CSS and CS by creating materials and training new hires on investment service offerings
Works closely with portfolio managers in the implementation and monitoring of investment models and portfolios
Assists in the education of advisors on an ongoing basis on a broad range of investment topics
Serve as a liaison between advisors and separately managed account managers; requesting proposals, analysis, and setting up portfolios and strategies
Prepares and delivers investment manager research of each asset class
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required; with an emphasis on Finance, Investments Mathematics or Economics
2 year of experience in an investment research environment
CFA candidate, charter holder and/or CAIA designation
Strong quantitative analytical skills related to manager performance, asset allocation and portfolio construction
Experience with manager research/due diligence covering one or more asset classes
Strong technological knowledge and experience with tools necessary to research, implement and report on investment portfolios (MS
Access/Excel, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Tamarac, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and consideration of follow through
Passion for working in finance with high net worth families or institutional investors with a focus on research, proposals, performance and reporting
Experience with private investments and private investment reporting
Ability to travel as needed, approximately less than 5%
