Position Title: Part-time Artist Faculty - Violin, Spring 2024 Campus: Gorham City, State: Gorham ME Department: Music - PMUS Bargaining Unit: Temp Salary Band/Wage Band: n/a Work Schedule: varies Statement of Job: The Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine invites applications for Part-Time Artist Faculty in Violin for our Spring 2024 semester. The successful candidate will teach applied violin lessons, attend juries, and assist in maintaining and expanding an outstanding strings program. Additional opportunities for coaching chamber music, teaching violin literature, pedagogy, or leading studio classes are available. Other coursework opportunities are possible if the needs of the School of Music intersect with the candidate’s areas of expertise. This position will coordinate with the Director of Strings and Director of the School of Music. Performing opportunities through the faculty concert series and other collaborations are available for additional compensation.In addition, the position will coordinate with the Director of Bands and Director of the Osher School of Music. Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit-hour basis based on prior teaching experience. In addition, USM employees can use their USM Card to access the library, Cigna Employee Assistance Plan, and fitness center(s). Bachelor’s degree in Music; Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

Outstanding qualifications as a performer and teacher.
