Estimated Annual Total Compensation: Position Summary This position is a wonderful entry level opportunity for someone with basic construction and maintenance knowledge that also has a strong focus on safety and the ability to communicate. Facilities Workers partner closely with and assists coworkers. This position performs multiple tasks requiring knowledge and training in support of the repair, cleaning, operation, and maintenance of City buildings and infrastructure. The Facilities Worker operates a variety of hand and power tools in the performance of their assigned tasks. Work is performed independently or in conjunction with co-workers and will take direction from Dispatchers and Planner/Schedulers under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. General building maintenance including replacing lightbulbs; moving and adjusting office equipment, furniture, and desks, hanging pictures and whiteboards; setting up and operating Audio-Visual equipment; unclogging toilets, sinks, and drains; repairing fences and gates; patching and painting walls and ceilings; repairing and replacing flooring; adjusting and repairing of doors, locks, and windows; and changing water filters; changing HVAC equipment belts and filters, coil cleaning; clearing gutters, scuppers and debris from rooftops. The position will also assist with moving furniture and setting up special events and meetings. The position will also participate in building and safety assessments. Questions? Experience understanding and following oral and basic written instructions.
Experience using common hand tools and simple power tools applicable to the work, and the ability to learn and apply safe working practices.
Experience unclogging toilets, sinks, and drains; patching and painting walls and ceilings; adjusting and repairing of doors, locks, and windows; and changing water filters.
Experience performing routine HVAC maintenance, including replacing filters, replacing belts, removing debris, cleaning units, wiping down dampers, and replacing insulation.
Experience performing a variety of site maintenance tasks, including pressure washing; removing debris; cleaning catch basins, repairing fences and gates
Experience providing excellent customer service, including working courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people such as coworkers and the public.

Step 3: Minimum Qualification Evaluation Phase 2: Work Skills Demonstration
Applicants who successfully pass Minimum Qualification Evaluation Phase 1 of the recruitment process will be scheduled to participate in the work skills demonstration, weighted 100%. The work skills demonstration test will cover the following:
Written Test
Hands On Test
An invitation will be sent via email. Out-of-town candidates will be required to travel to participate in phase II.
Phase II is tentatively scheduled for the Weeks of April 7th, April 14th and April 21st
A photo ID will be required for admittance to the test.
All Safety protocols must be followed.
