Help us help others, and join Team Unum today!General Summary:This position is responsible for the daily processing of Expense Reports and the reconciliation of variousreports associated with this function.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Audits all home office and field office employee expense reimbursement reports to determine validity and accuracy of expenses claimed with appropriate receipts

Investigate personal and out-of-pocket expenses to identify misuse of the Corporate Travel Card

Partner with Corporate Investigations and Human Resources to identify potential fraud or ongoing misuse of the Corporate Travel Card.

Monitor and action on late submittal of expenses (30, 60, 90+ days late)

Provide adequate back-up for Corporate Card Administrator

Provide detailed work papers and written correspondence in support of audit findings.

Identify issues to be communicated and socialize the audit information to appropriate stakeholders.

Performs specialized calculations, posting and accounting functions exercising considerable judgment, and initiative in arranging details.

Ensures compliance with IRS regulations and Corporate travel policies.

Communicates with internal personnel regarding employee reimbursement.Performs the expense management functions including reviewing expense reports, creating payment elections for workers, and administering final approval authority for the expense report.

Responsible for creation, training, and compliance to the Unum corporate expense policy.

Responsible for a complete and systematic set of transactions in a specific phase of accounting requiring knowledge of specified accounting policies and practices.

Ensures complete, accurate and timely processing of reimbursement activity including all routine and complex calculations and adjustments, deposits, off-cycle transactions and balancing control totals.

Create and/or enhance process documents as needed

May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent and five (5) years of accounting and general business experience is required.

Knowledge of general operation of major accounting systems

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

Operates a personal computer, calculator, adding machine and other business machines.

Above average communication skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Organizational skills and ability to set and meet priorities

Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management framework
