Actalent is providing onsite vehicle powertrain testing services to operate and maintain the key powertrain engineering function of vehicle testing, in support of various test fleets of vehicles at a customer site. Ideal candidates are BSME, BSEE, or BSCS graduates who have participated in Formula SAE or Baja teams, have hands on automotive passion and experience, and enjoy working on vehicles, testing, data and reporting. Description:This individual will provide basic engineering services pertaining to the management, preparation, maintenance and testing of the customer's validation Vehicle Test Fleet and will be responsible for the following:

Responsible for interpreting test requests from Powertrain & customer engineers and set up functional vehicles (general test, fuel economy, benchmarking, etc.) including calibration/software flashing and data logger /instrumentation setup on vehicle.

Remote testing and support (Winter test, Summer test, Proving grounds, other).

Critical part of data acquisition team responsible for innovating data logger techniques, instrumentation, data storage / sharing, and post-processing / analyzing methods.

Responsible for Powertrain hardware and software problem resolution on functional vehicles.

Document vehicle Powertrain issues in internal tools and systems, and communicate to Powertrain engineering.

Hands on work Data logger assembly, vehicle instrumentation

Other functions as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must have Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and ideally 1-2+ years of mechanical or electrical engineering experience (vehicle test experience preferred)

MECOP, internship, capstone project, Formula SAE or Baja program experience from school may suffice in lieu of experience

Automotive and/or heavy duty truck experience or passion required

Understanding of vehicle powertrain systems

Willingness to travel at times (including 4-5 weeks in Summer and Winter and 1-2 weeks in Fall and Spring)

Need to be regional to Portland or the Pacific NW, or able to relocate (likely without assistance) to Portland quickly
