Job Title: AccessionerJob DescriptionAs an Accessioner at our lab, you will be responsible for handling all specimens and lab samples in a safe and efficient manner. You will review specimen packages for complete information and route/deliver specimens to the appropriate destination within the lab. The role involves scanning in/manually entering specimen and patient information into the internal system, sorting samples into specific bins based on category and/or lab code, and maintaining a culture of care, engagement, and recognition.Responsibilities
Handle all specimens and lab samples, including blood, saliva, urine, stool, etc., in a safe and efficient manner.
Review specimen packages for complete information and route/deliver specimens to the appropriate destination within the lab.

Essential Skills
Experience in specimen processing, data entry, accessioning.
High School Diploma/GED.
Strong work ethic with drive/motivation to hit performance metrics.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Proven reliability and positive attendance.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a very large diagnostic lab space that serves as the central lab for all LabCorp patient samples in Oregon & SW Washington. It is a fast-paced, high-throughput lab environment. The night shift is the busiest shift, as samples that come in are to be returned in a 24-48 hour window. The lab is located at LabCorp Halsey Laboratory for Oregon & SW Washington, 4400 NE Halsey Street, Building 3, Portland, OR. Contracts are initially slated for 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
