Small firm seeking a full-time Building Commissioning Project Engineer to join their team in Portland, OR!

Pay: Between $85,000-$125,000 depending on experience
Additional Compensation Opportunities:

Schedule: 34 Hour Work Week baseline
Location: Our office is located in Portland, OR 97214 with regular travel to job sites locally

What You’ll Do: We are excited to be growing with passionate engineers who enjoy using and improving their skill set to solve technical building system challenges. Our style of service to our clients requires significant time spent in the field working with low voltage controls and many types of building systems.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct thorough evaluations and testing of HVAC systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement commissioning plans and schedules for mechanical systems
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of Building Automation Systems to identify and resolve control system issues
Work closely with contractors to ensure the successful execution of commissioning activities within project timelines and budgets
Manage project deliverables and budgets, ensuring adherence to project specifications and client expectations
Foster strong client relationships through excellent communication and customer service skills
Utilize technical writing and editing skills to create comprehensive commissioning reports adapt to learn new software tools as necessary
The Employee We Are Seeking: The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for building commissioning and a focus on building performance, with a strong emphasis on "building forensics." They should possess a deep understanding of the commissioning process, hands-on experience in evaluating and testing HVAC systems, proficiency in Building Automation Systems and diagnostics, and a proven track record of collaboration with contractor and design teams. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong aptitude for project management, adept technical writing skills, and a willingness to quickly adapt to our unique software usage style.
Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
2+ years of experience working as a Commissioning Provider, Commissioning Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Electrical Engineer, HVAC Engineer, Mechanical Designer, or similar
Facilities and building controls experience considered instead of an Engineering background
TAB or Controls experience considered instead of an engineering background
Building automation controls experience including controls sequence improvement, logic diagram reading and trend log analysis considered
Physically able to perform duties on a job site including climbing ladders and to lift and carry loads in excess of 20 lbs. Working full days on a job site that may not be conditioned with heat or air conditioning
Punctuality is critical and must have the ability to travel to job sites with a personal vehicle (mileage is reimbursed and company credit card for travel expenses)
