A high school baseball pitching coach position typically requires the following qualifications and responsibilities:
Teaching and leadership: Demonstrate strong teaching, leadership, and organizational skills
Team environment: Foster a team environment that promotes a strong work ethic and sportsmanship
Passion for baseball: Show a strong passion for baseball and high school athletics
Communication: Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and coaches
Availability: Be available for practices and games, typically 4-5 days a week, from mid-January (Or March) to May.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the head coach and coaching staff to create practice plans and conditioning programs
Pitching mechanics: Have a strong knowledge of pitching mechanics and how to teach them to players
Baseball knowledge: Have a deep understanding of baseball, including the rules, strategies, and techniques
Reports to: Head Baseball Coach
Qualifications
A college degree or advanced degree is preferred but not required. Previous pitching coach experience at the high school, advanced club, or higher levels is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of coaching experience (knowledge of contemporary pitching mechanics/philosophies) coupled with a commitment to the ideals of the Mountainside High School baseball program.
