Preschool Lead Teacher - Immediate Opening

Oregon, Portland, 97201 Portland USA
Aplica ya

We have an immediate opening for a Lead Teacher who is passionate about working with toddlers aged 18 months to 3.5 years old. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, enthusiasm and skillset to engage and work with toddlers. They will collaborate with our teachers and families to provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment. If you are energetic, caring, and committed to making a difference in the lives of young children, we would love to hear from you!

We are a cooperative style program, and our families provide support in the classroom. Class enrollment is 16 children each day, and the classroom teachers and family volunteers guide the children throughout class activities. This unique structure allows our families to participate in their children’s learning in the classroom, and deepens the relationship and understanding between families and teachers in a meaningful way. Candidates must have exceptional communication skills in collaborating with teachers and families in the classroom.

Our classroom hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the Lead Teacher will be scheduled M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for a total of 25 hours/week. The pay range is $21-24/hour, depending on experience. We offer paid federal holidays, as well as Winter Break, Spring Break, and one week in the Summer and 5 days paid time off.

- Collaborate with co-teachers to plan monthly curriculum and classroom themes

- Clean up of the classroom at the end of the morning, including sterilizing toys and common spaces
