FTE: 1.0; 210 days per year

General Description:
This position provides coordination of the Diverse Educator Pathway Program with the
NWRESD’s component school districts. The mission of this program is to increase the
number of linguistically and culturally diverse educators. This position coaches Diverse
Educator Pathway Connectors on the development and implementation of DEP
programs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

1. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or related field
2. Valid driver’s license
3. Bilingual Spanish, preferred
4. Oregon Teaching License with TSPC in education or related field, preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
1. Ability to network, provide excellent customer service, and build strong
relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community members
from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
2. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and conduct presentations
for diverse stakeholders
3. Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions regarding work
methods and priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
4. Ability to operate standard office equipment and experience with Microsoft Office
suite and Google Drive
5. Flexibility with schedule and availability to work weekends and/or evenings, as
needed.
Essential Functions: Include the following. Performs some or all of the following
tasks. Other Duties may be assigned. The duties listed below are not inclusive, but
characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position.
A. Coordinate the Diverse Educator Pathway Program with component school districts
located in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington counties.
B. Serve as a liaison with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, bilingual or
bicultural students and families, staff and community members, colleges and universities,
the NWRESD and component school districts, community based organizations,
administrators and school counselors.
C. Serve as a recognized resource on racial equity, social justice, workforce diversity, and
available resources for diverse individuals seeking to become educators (i.e.
scholarships, employer tuition support, funds for basic needs, etc.)
D. Plan and facilitate quarterly Steering Committee meetings consisting of school district
leaders, NWRESD leaders, and higher education partners.
E. Plan and facilitate meetings with future diverse educators, families, and school district
leaders.
F. Serve as a point of contact for future diverse educators and school districts as program
participants enter and finish college, complete their education practicum, and secure a
teaching position.
G. Create streamlined systems to track and monitor future educator recruitment, retention,
and job placement.
H. Liaise the Grow Your Own program with resources and contacts between school
districts, community based organizations, NWRESD programs, and colleges and
universities.
I. Contribute to the development of program reports and presentations for funders, district
leaders, school boards, and the broader community
J. Maintain a detailed participant database to inform outcome tracking, monitor individuals’
progress, and coordinate ongoing support.
K. Assist with grant development, along with collection, reporting and tracking of student
data.
L. Design and distribute student outreach publications and informational materials for
prospective students, community members, and school district personnel.
M. Perform other duties as assigned.
