Career Transition Readiness & Services Supervisor

Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing and monitoring all activities, duties, and responsibilities of the Career Transition staff and ensuring compliance with PRH requirements for Career Transition.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervises Career transition and ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner.

Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.

Directs and plans for the Career Transitions Department’s needs.

Oversees the class in which students will create resumes, cover letters, provide education for financial literacy, credit reporting, disabilities in the workplace, etc. to help the student successfully transition to independent living after separation.

Helps CTR/CTS Staff identify barriers to employment by working with the student and assists with creating a plan to overcome those barriers before separation.

Attends meetings that involve Career Transition student/process issues.

Assist CTR/CTS staff in familiarizing students with Advance Training, military, and job offers.

Coordinates mock interview sessions. Assists in the coordination of job fairs and career days.

Maintains linkages with military services, One Stop and other external resources, maintain job banks, secures and post job leads, set up job interviews, arranges transportation assistance and other support services. Performs job development by screening leads from newspaper classifieds, telephone, and personal contacts, referrals, Internet, and other youth service organizations.

Ensures that all necessary licenses, certificates, transcripts and/or any pertinent document that will aid in job search are completed/obtained preferably prior to students’ exit.

Ensures that accurate contact information is obtained from exiting students is uploaded into their student information file.

Identifies support services needed for relocation, makes referrals to support services agencies. Develops and maintains a resource center for support services.

Initiates and collaborates with the Career Transition Department for student placement.

Updates the student Pathway Achievement Record as they complete CTR.

Conducts regular staff meetings and employee training sessions.

Provides monthly and weekly activity reports to Center Management, including Workforce Development Director, Deputy Center Director, Center Director, and weekend Duty Officer.

Promoting self-discipline and awareness of others by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring staff and student behavior according to the Career Success Standards.

Attends required staff training sessions.

Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, arrest, trouble at home and other traumatic experiences.

Responsible for insuring that departmental equal employment and affirmative action goals and objectives are met.

Interviews and selects staff.

Prepares and conducts performance evaluations.

Performs other duties as assigned.
