WHAT WE NEED:
The Staff Accountant role is a full-time, non-exempt position in our Accounting Department. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with an hour for lunch. Overtime may be necessary, especially around deadlines and peak times of the year.
Three years minimum of full cycle accrual accounting or bookkeeping experience
A candidate who will answer the phone promptly, with a smile and a warm, friendly voice, to let them know you are there to help solve their problem; keeping your cool when the homeowner is agitated
Inquisitive nature, willingness to learn, and ability to make mistakes and learn from them
Successful completion of the interview process and pre-employment requirements. CMI participates in E-Verify and is an equal opportunity employer
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with knowledge of basic accounting principles
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
A high school diploma is required, post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is preferred
Responsible for coordinating the submission of documents and facilitating work with the clients’ CPA firms for taxes and reviews/audits
Basic office skills and working knowledge of MS Outlook/Word/Excel required; MS Access experience preferred
Quick and accurate typing around 50 WPM and a 10-key typing speed around 10,000 KPH
Experience maintaining accounting records for multiple clients/entities preferred
Willingness and ability to quickly maneuver through tasks while keeping it all straight in a fast-paced environment
Printing and reviewing crucial reports for accuracy, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Candidates must supply 3 professional references supporting their abilities in these areas
