Job Title: Junior Staff Accountant

Summary: The Junior Staff Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller, with indirect reporting to the CFO. The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance and Accounting team in a wide variety of routine and ad hoc tasks, processes, and projects.

Duties and Responsibility

Assist in analysis and creation of monthly financial statements.

Prepare and upload journal entries to the general ledger.

Analyze and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.

Assist with reconciliation of monthly bank statements.

Assist with monthly bank reporting.

Create ad hoc reports and gather information for various needs.

Work with SAM staff and company CPA on annual audits.

Assist with annual budget development.

Participate on cross-functional process improvement teams as needed.

Input annual budgets into Acumatica and compare budgets to actual expenses monthly.

Backup coverage for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Write policy and procedures for various accounting activities.

Assist with maintaining fixed asset system.

Assist in preparation of annual property tax return.

Train and become proficient with Acumatica ERP system.

Assist with maintenance of Acumatica ERP system.

Pull various data reports from Acumatica ERP system.

Work with Acumatica software support as needed.

Human Resources

Prepare annual census and other mandatory government reports.

Managerial Responsibilities

Provide strong team support to Finance and other departments in the organization.

Required Certifications and Licenses

Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.

Occasionally lifting storage boxes, binders and files of 25 pounds or less.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or related field.

Ideally 1 - 3 years’ work experience in a related field.

Knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principles

Working knowledge of the following software:

o Excel

o Word

o Microsoft Outlook

Ideally would have some prior working experience with an ERP system.
