Business Accounting and Administrative Assistant (Portland Office)
Full-time business accounting and administrative assistant for an established and growing engineering firm in the Portland metro area (Tigard/Tualatin). JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Tasks: Accounting and Financials
o Process invoices, expense reports, and financial documents in Deltek Ajera Accounting Software
o Assist with payroll
o Assist project managers in project setups, documentation, and invoicing
o Reconcile bank statements and monitor transactions
o Provide Support with budgeting and forecasting
Secondary Tasks: General Administrative Assistance
o Assist with writing proposals and project specifications
o Assist with collections
o Assist with professional and business licensing
o Assist with planning company events
o Opportunities to assist with marketing and business development tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in business finance, accounting, or a similarly related field is preferred
o Consideration will be given to applicants with a similar associate’s degree or applicants with 5+ years of general work experience in an office setting
Experience:
o Two years’ minimum experience in a comparable position with a design firm (architectural or engineering) or construction company is preferred
o Knowledge and proficiency in using Deltek Ajera Accounting Software is preferred
o College graduates without experience will be considered
Skills and Attributes:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word
o Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping practices
o Knowledge of using Deltek Ajera accounting software is preferred. Training is available.
o Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, a quick learner, and a creative thinker
o Attention to detail and organization
o Works well individually and as part of a team
o Ability to multi-task and is self-motivated
o Good written and verbal communicator
o Positive and professional attitude
