Qualifications
Experience in construction preferred but not required.
Knowledge of lumber products (grade, dimensions, uses) is a must.
Knowledge of building materials and uses.
Experience in customer service and being able to answer customers’ questions regarding building materials and tools.
Use a customized software program, answering phone calls, and operating a cash register.
Job Duties/Requirements:
Kindly and respectfully interact with the customer in a store setting. Inform and advise customers of products and assist customers in choosing the correct product for their project.
Using customized software program to look up specific products by grade and dimensions. Most importantly be familiar with the different types and grades of building materials, at times the materials the customer purchases will be based off of your recommendations.
Answer incoming phone calls and answer customer questions.
Use cash register and collect money for materials purchased in the store.
