Primary Purpose

Provide direct supervision to Wraparound Facilitators, Family Support Specialists and Peer Support Specialists. Assist in the care and treatment of youth and their caregivers with psychiatric needs by providing consistent skills training, collaboration, and emotional support in a safe and secure manner. This position will also provide mental health services to youth, young adults and their families.

Education and Experience

A master’s degree in a behavioral science and least five years of relevant mental health experience. Prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.

Must meet Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) classifications, which includes a degree in one of the following:

Graduate degree in Psychology

Graduate degree in Social Work

Graduate degree in Recreational, Art, or Music Therapy

Graduate degree in a behavioral science field; or

A qualified Mental Health Intern, as defined in 309-019-0105 (61)

Must demonstrate the ability to conduct an assessment, including identifying precipitating events, gathering histories of mental and physical health, substance abuse, past mental health services and criminal justice contacts, assessing family, cultural, social, and work relationships, conducting a mental status examination, complete a DSM diagnosis, write and supervise the implementation of a Service Plan, and provide individual, family or group therapy within the scope of their training.

Minimum Qualifications

Provide proof of current, valid Oregon Driver's License (or if out-of-state will obtain Oregon license within 30 days), comprehensive automobile insurance (if applicable) and a safe driving record (minimum of 3 yrs.) to use company or personal vehicle for required duties.

Successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and Medicaid Fraud Check.

Obtain and maintain current CPI Verbal De-escalation Certification.

Obtain and maintain current First Aid andCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Obtain a Food Handlers Card.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Core competencies

Supervisory:

Provide oversight of Wraparound approach and facilitation in order to establish community based interventions that divert from hospitalization and insure stabilization in the community.

Establish rapport by demonstrating and maintaining clear, consistent, appropriate, and therapeutic boundaries.

Demonstrate alignment with the philosophy of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) by utilizing the approach in interactions with youth and young adults, families, staff, and community partners.

Demonstrate knowledge of youth development and family/group dynamics by adjusting therapeutic approaches to developmental level and family/group interactions.

Provide individual and group peer support and family support, as well as coaching within areas including but not limited to independent living/self-sufficiency, communication, wellness, psychoeducation, coping and self-care skills, and navigating the medical community.

Safely de-escalate youth and their caregivers, including in crisis situations, by effectively using Crisis Prevention and

Intervention skills.

Engage in and provide ongoing trainings as relevant to Peer Work and Wraparound principles.

Concisely and thoroughly document daily clinical information. Provide timely accurate documentation to meet billing requirements. Must adhere to Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) and standards of care.

Oversee shift flow, assure that productivity, staff wellbeing, and documentation are maintained and followed, activities are carried out, and individual and group needs are addressed.

Promote positive staff relations through communication and implementation of agency policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to assure smooth team function and task completion.

Provide and administratively document individual supervision for assigned supervisees. Ensure ongoing performance management and completion of performance appraisals.

Address issues of concern with supervisees immediately or at the next supervision session.

Provide program support to clinician in documentation of care plans when applicable.

Demonstrate a high level of competence and problem-solving skills in risk management, therapeutic interventions, and decision making while considering impact on youth their families, staff, and other departments.

Abide by ethical codes, mission, values, and professional standards, including confidentiality.

Working knowledge and ability to utilize, reference, and follow agency policies, procedures, and guidelines to provide immediate action in daily responsibilities.

Present a positive attitude, professional demeanor and demonstrated respect with youth and young adults, families, staff, visitors, and community partners.

Perform all work tasks in a proper and safe manner per established policies, procedures, and guidelines to prevent unnecessary injury, time loss and agency expense.

Comply with all federal, state and agency health and safety reporting requirements.

Actively model, create and participate in a trauma-informed, consistent, and safe work culture

Engage and aid in the coordination of community partnerships to provide Intensive In-home Behavioral Health Treatment.

Therapist:

Deliver and coordinate psychiatric services for youth, young adults and families.

Establish rapport by demonstrating and maintaining clear, consistent, appropriate, and therapeutic boundaries.

Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) as they pertain to assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing documentation of services.

Concisely and thoroughly document daily clinical information. Provide timely accurate documentation to meet billing requirements. Must adhere to Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and standards of care. Demonstrate and meet competency standards in using agency’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Demonstrate knowledge of and be able to efficiently access community resources, support services and referral systems for treatment and discharge planning.

Provide treatment and assist in stabilization of youth and young adults using a variety of evidence-based methods including wraparound, strengths-based, and family-centered framework.

Provide individual, group and family therapy per treatment plan.

Formulate and document mental health assessments and treatment plans based on identified strengths and needs.

Maintain communication avenues with essential positions regarding client needs and service plans.

Fulfill responsibilities for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) on call responsibilities.

Provide clinical leadership guidance to staff directly working with youth and young adults, families, and community partners.
