The City of Depoe Bay is looking for a seasonal Harbor worker. This position is part-time, 20 to 30 hours/week, starting April 1, 2024 through September 30, 2024. The hours are, generally, Saturday (noon to 4.30 PM), Sunday (8 AM - 4:30 PM), and Monday (8 AM - 4:30 PM). During peak season (depending on fishing/crabbing) hours may change to 5:30 or 6 PM to support fueling. Also may be asked to work additional hours as needed to cover vacations. The wage for this position is $19.50 per hour based on experience.
Under the supervision of the Harbormaster, the duties will range from manual labor in maintenance/repairs and janitorial tasks as well as dispensing fuel for boats. In addition, successful applicants should have the ability to:
learn the operation of a boat dock and fishing/charter harbor.
operate fuel pumps and a cash register and make correct change.
communicate effectively with fellow employees and the public.
understand written and oral instructions.
stand and move about the facility 75% to 100% of the workday.
work individually or with a crew.
Requirements:
Must have a current Oregon driver’s license
18 years or older
Some physical work is required which may include lifting heavy objects, bending, twisting, working on irregular surfaces, usually outdoors in conditions that may be wet and cold or otherwise unpleasant working conditions.
