Oregon, Medford-ashland, 97501 Medford-ashland USA
Aplica ya

Moore Construction LLC has been providing custom wood framing in the Rogue Valley for over 22 years. Today we are the largest framing subcontractor in Southern Oregon, with a 90,000-square foot prefab wall plant in White City and 120 employees during peak times working in the Rogue Valley on primarily commercial and residential projects. In recent months we have also opened a steel fabrication shop, allowing us to offer turnkey structural construction packages for our customers.

We strive to be a team of respectful, professional, and skilled people who take pride in our work. We are currently hiring for an estimating assistant to help increase our estimating bandwidth and expand our company into new markets.

Estimating Assistant Responsibilities

Prepare complete build-ready takeoffs for wood framing and steel using our digital cloud-based program (we currently use STACK).

Compile material lists into a standardized spreadsheet format to ensure consistency and transparency across all jobs.

Distribute and track RFQs to material vendors for engineered wood, trusses, lumber, steel, powder coating, etc.

Set and monitor estimating deadlines based on bid due dates, ensuring all bids are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.

Prepare real-world labor estimates based on time required to complete tasks and details per plan.

Analyze addenda, changes to floor plans, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to identify and quantify labor and material discrepancies between projects as bid, and projects as built.

Review material specifications in the plans and project manual to ensure precise material selection during the estimating and building process.

Identify areas of deficient information in plans and project manual and formulate RFIs accordingly during the estimating process.

Find and compile product data and installation sheets (aka “submittals”) for all materials used during the estimating process to ensure proper alignment with job specifications, and a streamlined submittal process upon award of the job.

Estimating Assistant Minimum Qualifications

Fluent in English (written & spoken)

Able to read wood framing and steel floor plans and details for plans from residential to moderately sized commercial projects.

Moderately skilled in the Windows or Mac OS computer operating system.

Proficient with basic office technology: email, Internet research, Microsoft Excel, cloud-based file storage, and Google Drive.

Proficient with time management, task management, and priority management.

Punctual and well-organized.

Possesses strong grammar, spelling, and mathematical skills.

Able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.

Attention to detail-oriented, while also able to understand big picture concepts.

Preference will be given to candidates with personal experience using digital takeoff software (i.e. Bluebeam, Stack, etc.)
