What is a Transition & Children's Service Direct Support Professional? T&C DSPs at PCL support children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, generally between the ages of 10 to 18. PCL’s Transition & Children’s Services was developed to meet the specific needs of children and young adults in need of support focused on stability, developing skills, and developing confidence to successfully navigate their desired future. Transitional & Children DSPs acknowledge that with children, self determination is progressive and can be implemented for a child dependent on age and skills and is developed with the support of the family and their support team.
Wages for Direct Support Professionals start at $17.50 an hour. The T&C position offers a $1.00 differential after successful completion of new hire training for a wage of $18.50

Job Specific Requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years old
-Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 lbs
-Be able to be certified with an Individual Focus certificate in Oregon Intervention System (OIS)
-Be able to be certified and maintain certification with First Aid/CPR
-Pass a State/Federal criminal history check
-Pass a pre-employment drug screen for the use of illegal substances in Oregon
-Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
-Pass a pre-employment computer skills assessment.
-Attend a two week in-person paid orientation.
