The Position

As a Heavy Equipment Welder, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for conducting welding operations to ensure the structural integrity and safe operation of our equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding techniques and be familiar with various welding methods for heavy equipment repair.

Responsibilities:

Perform welding and fabrication tasks on heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and other

construction machinery.

Inspect equipment for damaged or worn parts, identify welding requirements, and determine appropriate repair

techniques.

Operate and maintain welding equipment, including arc welders, gas welders, and cutting torches, ensuring compliance

with safety standards.

Select and prepare appropriate materials, such as metal alloys and welding rods, for each welding project.

Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, dirt, or other contaminants.

Monitor welding parameters, such as heat, speed, and voltage, to ensure proper fusion and adherence to quality

standards.

Conduct post-weld inspections to assess the integrity and strength of welds, making necessary adjustments or repairs as

needed.

Collaborate with mechanics and other team members to troubleshoot equipment issues and develop effective repair

solutions.

Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, labor hours, and work performed.

Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is highly desirable.

Proven experience as a welder, preferably in the heavy equipment or construction industry.

Proficient in various welding methods, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW),

and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).

Strong knowledge of metal properties, fabrication techniques, and welding equipment operation.

Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality workmanship.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate project updates.
