Valued Caregiver,

Healthy man in his early 60s with quadriplegia needs CNA to join his caregiving support staff. Candidates having experience in providing care for those with paralysis are preferred; however, not required. This is an ideal position for an individual wishing to expand their health-related profession. We are financially structured to hire a CNA who can work as an independent contractor, being responsible for their own taxes (assistance is provided). Payroll is accomplished weekly. We are looking for a cheerful, interactive, skillful caregiver with an empathetic approach to personal care. We will welcome you into our home in Eagle Point with respect and appreciation, providing a safe, clean environment for everyone.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: including but not limited to the following:

Meal Prep and Feeding Assistance

Medication and Hygiene

Transfers to shower chair/bed using motorized ceiling lift

Bowel Program/Shower

Catheter care

The above duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to define minimum activities. These duties may be altered to suit evolving needs.

A private en suite bedroom with a comfortable full-size bed, personal bed/shower linen, personal storage bin, Wi-Fi access, A/C and heat is provided for the overnight caregiver. The room is kept very clean. You should have free time to do as you wish (shower, study, sleep, etc.) between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., except as noted below.

It is necessary that the overnight CNA return to the client’s room at 2:30 a.m. for a repositioning on the opposite side (approx. 40 minutes). This is done to prevent bedsores.

This position requires a hands-on individual who has the following qualities:

Writing and communication skills to work effectively with the client and others on the caregiving team

Experience working with paralysis is preferred

Professionally written reference letters

Accommodate periodic personal time off

Summary:

Part-Time (Sunday/Monday/Tuesday with alternating Saturdays) 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Pay: Starting $220 per shift (approx. 6 hours “free” time)
