Position: K-12 Career Specialist
About Us:
At our institution, we believe in empowering students to navigate their futures with confidence and clarity. As a K-12 Career Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of professionals. We're dedicated to fostering an environment where both students and staff can flourish.
Duties:
-Design and execute 2-3 engaging career-focused workshops, igniting students' enthusiasm for employability skills.
-Arrange a minimum of 2 industry tours, providing students with firsthand insights into diverse career pathways.
-Spearhead student participation in local career fairs, cultivating connections and opportunities.
-Create Pathways Programs and Maintain with Community Trades (ex: Craterworks, Talent MakerSpace, etc). Facilitate student involvement and accountability in these programs/trades;
-Check in on student progress/attendance with trade partners no less than weekly. Check in must be in-person no less than monthly;
-Organize monthly lunch talks with local companies, facilitating meaningful discussions on career prospects.
-Promote Pathways to Staff, Students, & Businesses. Hold meetings as needed;
-Coordinate and plan in conjunction with the Scholars department Logos’s high school graduation and senior awards;
-Work with the Business Manager to facilitate use of Measure 98 funds and maintain budget in accordance with rules/directive given;
-Perform other duties as assigned by the College & Career Director.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree preferred
-Oregon Teaching License (Preliminary or Professional) holders will receive an additional $10k on top of the base salary.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership or management roles.
-Experience in direct budget management or collaboration with accounting departments.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations

-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
