Hey community,
My name is Eleyah and I host a small school for teens out of my home. Every Friday from 1030-230 we have guest teacher workshops that we either travel to in our school van or host in our house. I'd prefer not to drive more than 30 minutes from our location in Murphy (20 minutes outside of Grants Pass) but will make exceptions for exceptional trips/teachers.
I'm currently looking for guest teachers, workshops, or volunteer opportunities/service projects that can be indoors, but open to exploring spring options in advanced.
We currently have 5-6 students that come on Fridays between the ages of 13-15, and could possibly have more soon.
Specifically, I'm looking for teachers/hosts who can provide valuable life skills of interest to modern teens.
No credentials required; we are all teachers in our own ways!
Examples below:
- map making/geography
- financial literacy (with abundance mindset and no stress budgeting)
- practical science
- organization and planning skills
- communication skills
- First Aid and CPR
- Tool making
- Small business help or management
- Apprenticeships (we are going to be reading Robert Greene's "Mastery" in February)
Materials or cost for materials needed for classes/workshops can be provided.
This will most likely be a one time job since guest teachers are different every week. If students really like your activities, or if you have a series of classes you can offer, I'm happy to see if you can come in again.
Pay: $40/hour (for approx. 3.5 hour classes) (negotiable depending on experience, project, travel, etc.)
